Due to its geographical location, Vienna International Airport operates as one of the most important hubs in Europe.

The Vienna International Airport, which opened in 1954, reached the 27 million mark in 2018 for the first time in its history and, with 27,037,292 passengers, had 10.8% more passengers than in the previous year.

Vienna International Airport currently employs around 5,800 people.
